Some food historians think that the meal has its roots in England’s hunt breakfasts—lavish multi-course meals that featured a smorgasbord of goodies such as chicken livers, eggs, meats, bacon, fresh fruit and sweets. Others posit that Sunday brunch derives from the practice of Catholics fasting before mass and then sitting down for a large midday meal. And then there are those who look to New York’s abundance of dining spots when it comes to tracing the origins of classic brunch dishes from eggs Benedict to bagels and box. But wherever the initial spark of genius came from, the tradition definitely seems to have caught on in the United States in the 1930s, supposedly because Hollywood stars making transcontinental train trips frequently stopped off in Chicago to enjoy a late morning meal . It was a meal championed by hotels since most restaurants were closed on Sundays and, with church attendance flagging after World War II, people were looking for a new social outlet that also let them sleep in a bit. Restaurants soon hopped on the bandwagon and began offering the decadent spreads of food and signature morning cocktails, such as Bloody Marys, Bellinis and Mimosas. “Sunday dinner became important because it was the only time people could eat together as a family unit during the week at the onset of urbanization and industrialization, 150 years ago,” according to Stanford University professor Carl Degler in a 1980 Chicago Tribune article on the rise of America’s brunch culture. He also pointed to another social change that might be responsible for why Sunday brunch became so popular here. “After World War II, large numbers of American married women entered the workforce for the first time. Married women needed a relief on Sunday, too, thus the rise in popularity of Sunday brunch eaten out.” This summer why not enjoy a late this late meal with your family or friends. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or hosting a get-together "just because," there is always a reason for a beautiful brunch.

Six gratitude things you can practice daily: Celebrate your day…before it begins. While your head is still on the pillow, take just a few minutes to scan your inner landscape and identify all the things for which you are grateful, even if it’s just the fact that you are in a warm bed with a roof over your head. Give thanks sincerely and often. Pay attention to the gestures of consideration shown to you throughout the day. Be sure to thank, with meaning, everyone who pays you a kindness. Write l Appreciate the “negatives” in your life. Obstacles and challenges teach us resilience, humility and they allow us to become more capable of overcoming bigger problems. Instead of going ballistic over your neighbor’s barking dog, be grateful for the opportunity to practice patience. Find a gratitude prayer you like and say it often. It does not have to be religious, but it should be recited religiously. Committing your prayer to memory, posting it in places where you will see it often, will remind you to celebrate what you’ve got instead pining for what you don’t. Keep a journal. Don’t like to write? Do something called the “rampage of appreciation.” Think about all the things for which you’re grateful, open your journal, set a timer for one minute and spray the page with anything and everything that comes to mind. Don’t stop until the timer rings. When it’s over, you’ll be amazed at how many blessings belong to you. Count your blessings. Just as you begin your day as a celebration, end it the same way. By focusing on the good things in your life, you reduce mental stress wh. Gladys Bronwyn Stern said: “Silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone.” Celebrating your life and all that’s in it opens the way for more, but you don’t have to wait for an excuse to party. Go ahead, make some noise! It’s your life we’re celebrating

They say that time is money, and I for one fully believe that is true. During the course of planning your event, you might spend hours trying to figure out and DIY something small that your planner could deal with quickly, leaving you free to concentrate on whatever it is you do. Some parts of planning an event can be a ton of fun, but others are a major headache. Hiring an expert will mean that you don’t have to waste your time on the parts that are more difficult to coordinate. A planner can save you money come back to the fact that an event planner is an expert at events . In the same way that you would hire a plumber to deal with your house’s pipes, a lawyer to oversee your legal matters, or an accountant to take care of your finances, you should consider hiring an event planner to help with your events. Not only can doing so make your day into a wild success that you don’t have to worry about it for a minute, but hiring an event planner can save you money throughout the course of your project.

Ever since early man discovered fire and cheered an end to raw meat, celebrations have united human communities in honoring momentous events, rites of passage, religious observances and more. Celebrating as a group gives a sense of belonging, something crucial to human fulfillment. From birthdays to funerals, there is no end to the celebrations of who we are, where we came from, what we’ve done, what we worship and even who or what we’ve lost. Which begs the question: Do we need a holiday or an observance in order to don our party hats? Life day to day can sometimes be overwhelming and this is not to say that we should not have an"attitude of gratitude" but celebrations allow us to have gratitude with a focal point. Celebrations gives us a reason to stop, to laugh, be around friends and family, and take a moment to acknowledge the moment in life that GOD has given us. Make sure you stop and appreciate all the moments in your life the you have been given because none of us know how many moments there will be.
